Sparkle Run 2026: The Biggest Celebrity-Led Fun Run

Officially in our running era.
Nowadays, a lot of Filipinos are entering the fitness or running era. A few may have started running around their neighborhood. In contrast, others took an extra step and immediately signed up for an official fun run to physically and mentally challenge themselves and join a community with a welcoming space where people of different ages, fitness levels, and backgrounds feel encouraged to show up every time.
With that in mind and the fact that several fun runs are now more accessible and more beginner-friendly, Sparkle GMA Artist Center did not hesitate to create its first-ever fun run.

Making history in its debut, the Sparkle Run 2026, brought together Kapuso artists, fitness enthusiasts, and thousands of Kapuso fans with a simple yet meaningful goal: to steer away from the on-screen connection between Kapuso artists and their fans.
WELLNESS, FITNESS, AND COMMUNITY-BUILDING IN MIND
Sparkle Run 2026, held on May 30, 2026 in Quirino Grandstand, was more than just a fitness event. For GMA Sparkle Artist Center, the event served as a platform to promote an active lifestyle while creating meaningful opportunities for artists and fans to connect personally.
In an age where health and self-care have become increasingly necessary, Sparkle recognized the value of using its influence to encourage healthier lifestyles. By bringing together runners of all ages and fitness levels, the event promoted the idea that wellness is accessible to everyone and that self-care is an act of self-love.

The event also reflected their commitment to using their platform for a greater purpose. First Vice President and Head of Sparkle GMA Artist Center Joy Marcelo shared that in a fast-paced world where people often put themselves last, Sparkle believes that conversations around wellness are more important than ever, especially today.
Life is so fast-paced that sometimes nakakalimutan ang sarili natin," she shared. "When our artists talk openly about staying active and prioritizing wellness, it sends a strong message. It normalizes the conversation and hopefully inspires people, especially the younger ones, to make healthier choices out of genuine self-love and care.

Beyond the race itself, Sparkle Run became a celebration of community. Thousands of participants gathered not only to cross a finish line, but also to share an experience that united artists, fans, sponsors, and partners through a common goal.
Our community grew even more,” Marcelo shared. "The artists were out there running alongside fans, sharing the same exhaustion, the same finish-line glory. That authentic, unscripted connection is what made this more than just a fun run.

By bringing wellness, fitness, and community-building under one banner, Sparkle Run 2026 proved that meaningful connections can be formed not only through entertainment, but also through shared experiences that inspire people to move forward together.
ARTISTS’ REFLECTIONS
Long before participants crossed the finish line, Sparkle Run had already achieved something remarkable. The event generated overwhelming support from both fans and runners eager to share the road with some of their favorite Kapuso stars, proving that the intersection of entertainment and fitness continues to resonate with Filipinos seeking more meaningful ways to connect.

But beyond the numbers and social media buzz, Sparkle Run represented something bigger: a new way for artists and audiences to come together outside.
For many of the participating Sparkle artists, joining the event was an easy decision.
I’m really an active and outgoing person. Nung nalaman ko na may Sparkle Run, hindi ako nag-hesitate to join [because] never pa talaga ako naka-join ng proper or fun run event. First time kong sumali sa fun run,” Prince Carlos shared.

Prince Carlros also emphasized that the event provided an opportunity not only to engage with supporters but also to advocate for a healthier lifestyle.
Para ‘yung artists and fans makapag-bonding, makapag-meet. It’s fun na tumakbo tayo [para] sa healthy lifestyle. Kailangan din natin mag-healthy lifestyle, he added.
Their participation reflected one of the event’s core messages: wellness is for everyone, regardless of age, profession, or fitness level.
In an industry known for demanding schedules and long working hours, many artists acknowledged the importance of making time for their physical and mental well-being.
As Kris Bernal said, “It’s all about balancing and it’s all about priorities. Ako kasi I make sure that running is part of my workout routine. It’s actually my warm up. Yun actually nagbibigay sa aking ng energy before I start mga liftings.”
Others spoke about running not just as a physical activity, but as a personal challenge that strengthens discipline, focus, and resilience.
Mad Ramos shared, “Syempre if you also want to prioritze your health, kailangan mo talaga bigyan ng oras yung health mo. Punta sa gym, cardio. There’s always time kasi naniniwala ako if gusto mo talaga, kakayanin mo siya.”
LOOKING AHEAD
The overwhelming turnout and sustained social media buzz surrounding Sparkle Run 2026 proved that the event resonated with more than just fitness enthusiasts. It brought together a community.

"We're very honored that our fans, clients, sponsors, and partners have helped us make this historic moment happen," first Vice President and Head of Sparkle GMA Artist Center Joy Marcelo shared. "Seeing thousands of people, runners, fans, families, artists, all together tells us we're onto something meaningful."
Following the success of its inaugural run, Sparkle Artist Center is more motivated than ever to continue creating experiences that foster wellness, connection, and community.
Sparkle has always been about bringing people together, and after this, we're more motivated than ever to continue creating spaces where that can happen," Marcelo concluded.
