5th VP Choice Awards: Abot-Kamay na Pangarap, Jeff Moses, Jon Lucas, and Myrtle Sarrosa win awards at the 5th VPCA

GMA afternoon show, Abot-Kamay na Pangarap and Sparkle GMA Artists’ Jeff Moses, Jon Lucas, and Myrtle Sarrosa bagged awards under the Entertainment Category and Lifestyle Category at the 5th VP Choice awards!

Following the theme Celestial Radiance: A Night of Luminous Elegance, on May 21st, the VP Choice Awards marked yet another star-studded night and most awaited red carpet on its 5th year, considering the names and brands nominated by the fans and supporters themselves. The event will be giving a total of 110 awards for this year’s event, recognizing excellent brands and brightest stars across the industry. 

Meanwhile, to determine the winners, the Pipol themselves and the panel of judges for the 5th VP Choice Awards—namely Maita Martinez, Lady Agua, Dr. Darwin Ferrolino, Jay Vincent Mateo, Peter Jan Icogo, Caz Edmunds, and Patrick Cabusay— played significant roles. The award-giving body produced by Red Entertainment and Village Pipol Magazine employed the following voting criteria in naming this year’s awardees:

Abot-Kamay na Pangarap and Actor Jeff Moses won awards under the Entertainment Category at the 5th VP Choice Awards

Marked as the longest-running afternoon drama series of the GMA Network in the 21st century, Abot-Kamay na Pangarap brings glory from the 5th VP Choice Awards as the “TV Series of the Year (Afternoon)”. The other afternoon series nominated by the Pipol are Pira-Pirasong Paraiso, Magandang Dilag, Nag-aapoy na Damdamin, Underage, and Unica Hija.

Actor Jeff Moses received the award on behalf of the cast and crew of Abot-Kamay na Pangarap. He plays the role of Reagan Tibayan, Dr. Analyn’s (Jillian Ward) best friend and janitor at the series’ hospital. The fast-rising Sparkle Artist is also one of the protagonist’s love interest which caught the attention of Abot-Kamay na Pangarap fans along with the actor’s undeniable appeal.

Beyond his charming looks, the Sparkada star proved that he is also excellent in the field of acting. At the 5th VP Choice awards, Jeff Moses bagged the award for the Promising Male Star of the Year under the Entertainment Category and the special award, Celestial Star of the Night.

The series, packed with excellent actors lives up to its ratings and recent awards as Abot-Kamay na Pangarap. Jeff Moses acts alongside the protagonists Jillian Ward and Carmina Villaroel. The bright stars who brought life to the characters of the show are Richard Yap, Dominic Ochoa, Pinky Amador, Andre Paras, Wilma Doesnt, Kazel Kinouchi, Jeff Moses, Dexter Doria, Chuckie Dreyfus, and Ariel Villasanta.

Jon Lucas wins TV Supporting Actor of the Year award

Jon Lucas wins big at the 5th VP Choice Awards under the category, “TV Supporting Actor of the Year” for his portrayal as Calvin Magallanes in “Black Rider”! The star was nominated and chosen by the Pipol alongside McCoy De Leon, Mikoy Morales, Anthony Jennings, Will Ashley, and Mikael Daez.

Ever since playing the role of Dominic Zaragosa in “Got to Believe”, Jon has shown beyond doubt that he is an excellent actor. The star further proved his acting prowess as Calvin, the main antagonist in the primetime series “Black Rider” along with his co-stars Ruru Madrid, Matteo Guidicelli, Katrina Halili, and Yassi Pressman.

Jon has brought to life his character in Black Rider earning praise from the Pipol. Who knew that the actor who is great at playing good boy roles in the past was actually even better at portraying kontrabida roles? Jon proves to be excellent at being the antagonist as he puts the viewers on the edge which makes him remarkable in every episode he appears in Black Rider.

Myrtle Sarrosa wins Cosplayer of the Year under Lifestyle Category for the second time at the 5th VP Choice Awards

After her stint last year, the “Makiling” star has proved herself again to be excellent at her game. Myrtle won the “Cosplayer of the Year” award for two consecutive years, showcasing her unwavering excellence in the field of cosplay. The Kapuso star, along with Alodia Quimbo, Prince De Guzman, Een Mercado, Awe De Guzman, and Eric Ejercito, were nominated in the same category.

Myrtle Sarrosa has been doing cosplay since 2009. She loves cosplaying because for her– it allows a person to let go and be in character. Cosplay made her build up confidence. Seeing how cosplay changed the trajectory of her life, Myrtle has shown great skill and talent in doing what she loves.
