‘Lia’: Zild Benitez Drops Second Single from Upcoming August-Album

The 27-year-old ‘Homework Machine‘ singer just released his second single last Wednesday. ‘Lia‘ is part of his fourth studio album, ‘Superpower‘, which will drop on August 9.

‘Lia’ is a love song that narrates a simple story similar to a traditional Filipino ‘Harana‘. It captures the journey from infatuation to deep love and surrender (Republic Asia Media). Inspired by a Netflix show, Zild wrote this 90s-inspired love song with a sound reminiscent of OPM classics.

“I wanted to write a song similar to those classics, one that is easy to listen to,”

Segurista‘ As Its First Single in His Upcoming Album

Zild released his first album single, ‘Segurista‘, on June 20, and it has garnered 350k streams since its release. Genius described the track as a ‘compelling piece that explores the emotional turbulence of cautious love and the near-misses in romantic encounters.’

Moreover, he used catchy melodies to capture his introspection. ‘Segurista‘ encapsulates the feeling of vulnerability while also assessing his emotions to ensure their authenticity. The song concludes with a sense of relief, as he realizes it was better that he held his emotions back. His internal conflicts are to blame for his feeling of uncertainty. Furthermore, the irony of the title between the story makes this piece a beautiful articulation of overanalyzing one’s emotions to protect the other person’s heart.

Zild Benitez has always been vividly describing experiences and emotions through his songwriting. His talent for making music earned him a place in the OPM industry from the moment former band, IV Of Spades, graced MTV. Now, let’s look forward to his much-awaited album, ‘Superpower’, set to drop on August 9, 2024.
