6th VP Choice Awards Nomination Scores Millions of Online Reach

The excitement for the 6th VP Choice Awards (VPCA), the leading People’s Choice awards in the Philippines, has skyrocketed since nominations opened on October 28. This month-long online nomination phase, ending November 28, gathers the Pipol’s favorites in business, travel, lifestyle, tech, and entertainment.

This year, Village Pipol Magazine, the producer of VPCA, introduced three simple ways for the Pipol to nominate their favorites.

Third Option: Facebook Community Group

PIPOLL

This year, VPCA launched the PiPoLL, an online poll feature on its website designed to capture the Pipol’s preferences and identify potential nominees for next year’s awards.

Additionally, Village Pipol and RED Entertainment will lead a FGD to refine the selection process, ensuring nominees are relatable and truly represent the Pipol’s favorites for 2024.

The VP Editorial Team will also review and deliberate on the nominations to ensure they align with the award categories and criteria.

MILLIONS OF REACH

The nomination phase for this year’s VPCA has garnered impressive engagement, with a combined reach exceeding 20 million across Facebook, Instagram, and the VPCA website. While engagement typically peaks during the voting period, the strong early interest suggests that the 6th VPCA is on the right track.

Notably, the entertainment category has seen heightened participation, driven in part by the passionate supporters of Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 ex-housemates, showcasing the Pipol’s unwavering support.

HALL OF FAME

The 6th VPCA will honor several Hall of Fame inductees, including John Paulo Nace (aka Pablo of SB19), who secured his third consecutive win as Composer of the Year. Additionally, “DONBELLE” the love team paitring of Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, along with their fandom “BUBBLIES”, enter the Hall of Fame for winning Love Team of the Year and Fandom of the Year for three straight years.

Under VPCA’s newly announced rule, Hall of Fame awardees remain eligible for future nominations. Favorites can achieve multiple Hall of Fame awards as long as they secure three consecutive wins in the same category. Click here for more details.

WHAT’S NEXT?

The official list of nominees across the five categories will be revealed in January 2025. Voting will run from March to April, culminating with the Red Carpet and Awarding Ceremony in May.
