From Recognition to Reinvention: Miss Kayce Builds Momentum This September

After bringing together style, stories, and sustainable fashion in August, Miss Kayce, KC Leyco, stylist, author, speaker, and founder of MadeCHIC—continues the momentum this September with three distinct engagements happening across one weekend.

On September 12–13, Miss Kayce moves between the worlds of writing, fashion, and conscious consumption. With appearances at the Manila International Book Fair, Purveyr Fair, and Stellar September.

The Finalist Effect: Turning Writing Recognition to Writing Momentum

The weekend begins on September 12 at the Manila International Book Fair, where KC Leyco joins fellow PaperKat Books authors as one of the panelists for “The Finalist Effect: Turning Writing Recognition to Writing Momentum.”

The panel brings together authors who have been recognized as National Book Book Awards finalists and winners, as well as VPCA Author of the Year awardees—recognition that Leyco herself received as the VPCA Author of the Year (Paperback) in 2025 for Always Be Chic by MIss Kayce.

Organized by PaperKat Books publisher, Kath Eustaquio-Derla, the panel explores what happens after writing recognition and how authors can turn that recognition into momentum for their creative careers and the next chapter of their work.

For Miss Kayce, the conversation reflects her own journey of building on one creative chapter to create the next. After more than two decades in styling, her career has expanded into authorship, speaking, workshops, and sustainable fashion through MadeCHIC.

MadeCHIC’s Second Life Denim Donation Pop-Up will also be part of May-December Affairs’ “A Stellar September: Christmas Starts Here!” on September 12–13.

Visitors are invited to bring clean, wearable pre-loved denim to donate, giving their pieces a chance at a new life while joining in the festive weekend.
