Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) Takes Centerstage as the Heart of the 7th VP Choice Awards Gala and Awards Night
The 7th Village Pipol Choice Awards (VP Choice Awards) officially concluded another successful edition. Honoring personalities, brands, and organizations that greatly resonated with the PIPOL and industry experts in 2025.
Held on April 29 at The Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan, Bridgetowne. The grand celebration gathered the country’s brightest stars, personalities, and brands from the travel, lifestyle, technology, and entertainment industries. Moreover, RED Entertainment mounted its biggest and most attended VPCA edition yet.
Behind the Glitz and Glamour
Beyond the glitz and glamour. The 7th VP Choice Awards Gala and Awards Night also highlighted a meaningful advocacy initiative close to the organization’s heart.
For three consecutive years. The VP Choice Awards has partnered with organizations like Dialysis Support Group PH. As well as LoveYourself to amplify important advocacies through its growing platform.
“For three years running, we have made voting more meaningful, where the PIPOL’s participation contributes to a much bigger cause,”
shared Inyi Yruma, Managing Director of VP Choice Awards.
“We take pride in using the VPCA platform to champion vital causes, and moreover, our organization remains committed to expanding these efforts further in the future.”
For its 7th edition, the VP Choice Awards became a bridge for the voiceless by championing animal welfare through its partnership with the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), made possible through the initiative of Mr. Jino Esteban, PAWS advocate and Events & Partnership Manager.

PAWS Philippines
Just like previous editions, VPCA converted a portion of the total Facebook Stars collected from votes into donations for its advocacy partner.
During the gala night, VPCA officially awarded PAWS Philippines with a donation cheque to support its spay-neuter programs and provide care for rescued shelter animals.
Currently, PAWS cares for 172 rescued cats and 74 rescued dogs, while continuously advocating responsible pet ownership and animal protection.
“The funds raised this evening will directly support our Spay and Neuter Programs and our fight against animal cruelty,”
shared Atty. Anna Cabrera, Executive Director of PAWS.

“Moreover, these initiatives are life-saving interventions because every peso raised prevents suffering and gives rescued animals another chance at healing.”
Present during the formal presentation were PAWS Directors Atty. Anna Cabrera and Ms. Cristina Martinez, together with Ms. Sharon Yap, Humane Education Officer.
Also present during the event was Matteo, a rescued dog from San Mateo, who symbolically represented the animals helped through the initiative.
When rescuers found Matteo, he suffered from poor physical condition and a lump near his genital area. However, through proper care and treatment from PAWS, Matteo now enjoys a healthier condition and hopes to find a loving home soon.

“On behalf of every animal in our shelter, Matteo, Cristina, Sharon, and I sincerely thank everyone for choosing PAWS as this year’s beneficiary,” added Cabrera.

The VP Choice Awards continues to prove that it is more than a celebrity and PIPOL-driven event. Furthermore, the organization consistently uses its growing platform to champion meaningful causes that celebrate life, compassion, and community.
Through Village Pipol, PIPOL mgZn, and RED Entertainment, the organization promises to continue supporting advocacies that deserve greater awareness among Filipinos nationwide.
