5 BTS’s Suga songs to listen to when you miss him

Several months ago, ARMYs was hit by a wave of sadness as all BTS members began their mandatory military enlistment. Thankfully, the members have been keeping us updated through their personal accounts. Except for one member, as there haven’t been any updates from Suga himself.

Though an update from him feels like a distant dream, ARMYs finds joy in his recorded contents. With behind-the-scenes episodes on Bangtan TV and his D-Day concert movie in theaters, it appears like we found a short glimpse of spring day in this blue and grey season.

And it doesn’t help that we get emotional support from him. Whether as Suga, Agust D, or Min Yoongi, his music serves as an avenue to pour his valuable emotions, relatable experiences, and bold messages. Hence, Suga’s music provides a reassuring embrace that became the perfect cure for those “I need Yoongi moments.”

But don’t be sad, ARMYs! While Suga is currently serving in the military, let these songs supply comfort until he returns.

So Far Away (Feat. SURAN)

Feeling lost, adrift, and without a dream? So Far Away might just be the song to pull your heartstrings. It’s as if Suga looked into our souls, capturing the feelings we struggle to express into words. You’ll realize you’re not alone in experiencing being stuck in the moment, especially in times when everyone else is going about their lives.

This song also reminds us that trials eventually lead to success. While our beginnings may be challenging, determination and self-belief will open the way towards prosperity.

You can even listen to the version that included Jin and Jungkook!

28 (Feat. NiiHWA)

Whether you’re a college student who used to be very ambitious or an ARMY in your 20s and 30s experiencing a quarter-life crisis, Suga has you covered with 28. This song explores the confusing experience of questioning one’s purpose and losing sight of who they are and their dreams. It was released in 2020 when Suga was 28 years old (Korean age calculation),

And the lyrics go beyond language barriers, connecting us on an emotional level. Because while he reflects his thoughts at that age, the song also touches us in unexpected ways. That’s why it’s no surprise that this song is on your comfort playlist already!

Snooze (Feat. Ryuichi Sakamoto, WOOSUNG of The Rose)

Suga and the other members encountered difficulties along the way to becoming successful music artists; it certainly wasn’t an easy road. Knowing that new young artists were about to embark on a similar journey, Suga reflected on his own experiences. This reflection inspired him to write Snooze, a song that serves as a message of encouragement and comfort to those going through tough times.

But this song resonates with you too! Regardless of your career, you can also lean on this song for comfort and inspiration. Suga’s words of sincerity truly feel like they’re consoling everyone who hears them. So, it may also serve as your hope for achieving and holding on to your dream.

Life Goes On (Agust D version)

Agust D’s version of Life Goes On is for those who have been afraid of what the future holds. It contains a few lyrics from the BTS version, but with a bittersweet touch. He expressed his worries that, as time passes, we might grow farther apart from each other’s lives.

It also mentions that life goes on despite everything that happens in our lives. To accept change and keep moving forward while remembering your memories of the past. This shows that Suga truly has a way with his words.

It also hits differently when you watch his concert live performances on this song.

People

With lyrics that express the reality of how people are, People could be the song for almost everyone. It shows the perspective we hold about ourselves and other people.

And it also offers a message that everything in life can change. People change, you change, and that’s inevitable. However, while change can be painful, it also implies that it is okay; we simply need to accept it and live in the present.

What makes this song more special? Exhilaratingly, People is also a song that Suga himself finds comforting. So, add this song to the list of your favorites as well!

Maybe these songs were one of the reasons why Suga reminds us of comfort. So, here’s a reminder from D-Day, ARMYs: the future’s gonna be okay. Okay? We’ll see each other again in no time. For now, let’s wait for Spring day to come!
