Despite the vibrant melody, the song explores the emotions of someone experiencing a love relapse. It dedicates itself to those who think they’ve moved on from heartbreak, only to feel confused, in denial, and irrational when their exes try to re-enter their lives.

Exes, be gone, stream Toyo!

“Toyo” is a deeply personal project for KZ Tandingan, as she not only wrote and produced the song herself but also infused it with her unique artistic vision. Tim Recla mixed and mastered the track, ensuring that every emotional nuance shines through.

Heto na naman tayo
Ayoko na pero nagpapasuyo
Tinotoyo na ata ako
Mukhang bibigay pa ulit sa’yo

Our response to this verse? KZ, aren’t we all? Many of us are haunted by someone from our past, and it’s even harder when they reconnect just as we’re about to heal.

Journey from the studio to the first public launch

Star Music has released the newest single under the guidance of ABS-CBN’s creative music director, Jonathan Manalo, who serves as the supervising producer. This collaboration highlights KZ’s commitment to delivering a powerful and authentic musical experience.

At the launch, the first to hear the song live were Bryan Chong, Jel Rey, FANA, Jem Macatuno, MC Einstein, and Angela Ken. Their presence added to the excitement of the event as they experienced KZ’s powerful new track for the first time.

Following the success of Tandingan’s “Dito Ka Lang,” she captivated audiences again with her husband, TJ Monterde, on the hit single “Palagi,” which garnered 10 million streams in two weeks. KZ’s latest track, “Toyo,” continues her winning streak with catchy melodies and relatable lyrics that resonate with listeners.

If you’re someone grappling with the biggest “ghost” from your past, what are you waiting for? Click here to stream “Toyo,” available on all music platforms in the country, and let the lyrics resonate with you.
