Pinoy Pride 2025: Filipinos Who Made History Worldwide

The Philippines soars proudly in 2025 as Jessica Sanchez, Kirk Bondad, Emma Tiglao, Veejay Floresca, and Kram Airam Carpio shine internationally. These remarkable Filipinos captured the world’s attention through music, pageantry, fashion, and sports. Their success shows that Filipinos can achieve anything with their talent, passion, and heart.

Beyond their accomplishments, each Filipino triumph reflects years of dedication and hard work. 2025 is marked as a standout year for Filipinos on the global stage.

Jessica Sanchez

Jessica Sanchez made a stunning comeback, two decades after her first season appearance on America’s Got Talent. She sang “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone at her audition, earning Sofia Vergara’s golden buzzer, making her move to the live shows. On the live stage, she performed “Golden Hour” by JVKE with aerialist Sirca Marea, showcasing a breathtaking performance.

Although performing while pregnant, Sanchez still captivated the judges and audiences with her powerful vocals, earning her the winning title as her redemption. Previously, she rose to fame as the runner-up on American Idol Season 11 in 2012.

Emma Tiglao

On the other hand, Emma Tiglao carried the nation’s beauty and pride on the Miss Grand International 2025 stage. Fellow Filipina Christine Juliane Opieza crowned her on October 18 at Bangkok’s MGI Hall, completing a historic back-to-back win for the Philippines.

Kirk Bondad

Meanwhile, just weeks before Tiglao’s win, Filipino-German model Kirk Bondad also claimed the Mister International 2025 title in Bangkok. He exhibited a Pearl of the Orient Sea-inspired national costume, showing his confidence and love for the Philippines.

Bondad’s advocacy for mental health and fitness revealed a more profound sense of purpose behind his strength. As the second Filipino to win since Neil Perez in 2014, he brought honor to the country and redefined masculinity through empathy and resilience.

Veejay Floresca

On another stage, Veejay Floresca made history as the first openly transgender woman to win Project Runway Season 21. Her winning collection, A Beautiful Moment, took inspiration from her father’s favorite film and showcased hues of gray, silver, and black.

Apart from designing clothes, Floresca also embraced the world of pageantry. She represented the Philippines in the Miss Trans Star International in 2022, confidently wearing her creations and designs.

Kram Airam Carpio

In sports, Pencak Silat (Indonesian martial arts) athlete Kram Airam Carpio bagged a gold medal at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain. The athlete from Santa Cruz, Laguna, competed in the girls’ 51-55 kg category, dominating her opponents.

Carpio’s victory marked the country’s first tournament gold medal, inspiring pride and hope for young Filipino athletes worldwide.

The success of these Filipino talents in 2025 highlights the country’s growing presence across different industries worldwide. Each triumph proves that talent, passion, and heart can propel any Filipino toward international recognition, inspiring others to dream bigger and rise beyond their limits.
