PIPOL Behind: Geca Morales Cover Story

Meet the creative collaborators who helped bring the Geca Morales cover to life

A front cover of a magazine may feature one face, but the entirety is never the work of one person. Behind every detail is a team of creatives translating ideas into images. From defining the visual direction, styling and perfecting the hair and makeup, to capturing the right behind-the-scene moments.

For PIPOL’s April Headliner Issue featuring Geca Morales, every collaborator played a role in shaping the visual narrative of her becoming. Here’s a closer look at the creative people behind the Geca Morales cover.

Beauty That Complements the Story

As they say, makeup can be one of the powerful tools for enhancing one’s appearance. Because not only it beautifies the looks, it can also boost one’s confidence. And that’s exactly the goal of makeup artist Kate and hairstylist Joanne.  For them, the goal wasn’t simply to make Geca look beautiful. They want to create a look that still felt unmistakably like her.

Despite working with the PIPOL team for the first time, the experience quickly turned into an exciting creative collaboration. “We’re so happy to be part of this shoot. So excited at the same time na medyo kabado din kasi our first time to be working with this team,” Kate shared.

Joanne shared the same excitement. She said, “Super grateful kami kasi naging part kami ng shoot na ‘to, super happy [rin] kasi first time din namin na-meet ‘yung team.”

Aside from makeup, hair styling, on the other hand, also follows the same collaborative process. Joanne shared that she matches the vibe and style of the hairstyle to what the overall makeup. “Kailangan mas tumema ka rin doon sa makeup para mas lalong maging maganda ‘yung work,” she said.

Together, makeup artist Kate and hairstylist Joanne created a look that truly complemented both the concept and Geca herself.

Framing the Cover

While every photoshoot has its memorable moments, this cover marked a milestone for photographer Ian Nikko Manalo as it was his first magazine cover shoot.

Nikko shared, “This is my first time shooting for a magazine cover and sobrang nakakatuwa.”

First-time’s luck was on Ian’s side because what made the experience even more memorable was the collaborative atmosphere on set. He revealed, “Everyone was so cooperative and sobrang babait. Napakadali silang [kasama sa] shoot.”

Other than clicking the shutter, as a photographer, Ian also ensured about staying aligned with everyone, from the creative director up to the stylist.

“Nakikipag-coordinate din ako sa directors at stylists para naka-align tayo sa tema ng shoot para magkaroon ng big idea na akma sa gusto nating mangyari para sa cover.”

Dressing the Narrative

Every wardrobe piece helps tell a story, and for stylist JP Steven, inspiration often starts long before clothes are pulled from the rack.

“I feel so happy because it’s my comeback. Finally, I [now have] one of [my] biggest projects this year, this cover shoot,” JP happily shared.

Asked about his creative process and inspirations, JP revealed that his creative references frequently come from music videos, allowing him to build looks that feel cinematic while staying the the concept.

JP said, “My inspirations are always music videos. From the backstory or theme ng shoot, doon ko kino-conceptualize yung idea or vibe.”

Looking into Geca’s Cover Issue, it has become evident that JP’s carefully selected pieces helped shape the visual identity of the Geca’s story, adding another later to the narrative told through every photograph.

Designing the Intention

In a world of fashion where aesthetics often take center stage, NG Couture by Neil Lulu Lorenzo and Gelo Roque Cruz takes on a different path and offers something deeper, with storytelling through design. NG Couture delivered a look that embodies bold femininity.

At the core of the ensemble is a tailored red corset, meticulously structured to sculpt and define the waist. Its clean lines and contoured seams create a sharp silhouette that exudes control and confidence.

Neil and Gelo shared that the addition of a structured peplum introduces both dimension and drama, flaring gently at the hips to enhance shape while adding movement and visual intrigue. Complementing that is a flowy high-slit skirt that helps soften the overall look.

Given the creative theme of Geca’s shoot, the choice of red serves as a powerful statement, symbolizing passion, strength, and presence. Altogether, the look becomes a striking balance of structure and softness, a visual narrative of confidence, elegance, and unapologetic femininity.

Through each creation, NG Couture continues to prove that fashion, at its best, is more than just design. It’s a story waiting to be told.

Where Ideas Come to Life

Once a team has been built for production, it also needs the right environment to bring creative ideas into reality.

The entire cover shoot of Geca Morales Headliner Issue took place at The QStudios, a versatile creative space designed for photo and video productions.

The studio, located in Makati City, became more than just a location. With its flexible shooting layouts, dedicated dressing area, and comfortable spaces for the crew, it became a part of the production process as the space was truly built for creators, brands, and teams.

According to them, “This space is designed to bring your ideas to life.”

With room to create, prepare, collaborate, and recharge, The QStudios provided the backdrop where every idea behind Geca Morales’ cover story came together.

Behind Every Cover Is a Team

As Geca Morales took center stage on the PIPOL Headliner April 2026 Issue, the final images were the result of countless creative decisions made by an entire team working toward one shared vision.

From beauty and styling, to production, every collaborator truly brought their own flare to the set, proving that the best cover stories are never created alone.

Because behind every cover is a story, a story of a team that makes it possible.
